Downgrading
Move to a lower plan — change applies at the end of the current billing period so you keep paid features until then
Downgrades are deliberately not immediate. When you choose a lower plan, you keep your current plan's features and limits until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. The switch happens at renewal time.
This gives you a window to clean up resources that won't fit on the new plan, without losing access to anything in the meantime.
How to downgrade
Open the Plans page
In the dashboard, go to Organization → Plans.
Choose a lower tier
Click Downgrade on the plan card you want to move to.
Confirm
A banner explains:
- The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No data is deleted
- Resources above the new plan's limit are grandfathered (they keep working) but you won't be able to add new ones until you're back under the limit
Click Confirm downgrade.
Verify the pending state
The current plan card now shows Active Until Period End. The target plan card shows Switching To.
What happens at period end
When the next renewal date arrives, the new plan activates. From that moment:
| Resource | Behaviour after the switch |
|---|---|
| Analyses | Limited to the new plan's monthly quota |
| Projects above the new limit | Continue to work, but you can't create new projects until you're under |
| Watchdog rules above the per-project limit | Auto-disable. Existing rule definitions are preserved — you can re-enable them after deleting others or re-upgrading |
| Team members above the new limit | Must be removed manually before the switch — see below |
| Integrations gated on a higher plan | Disabled (e.g. Slack on Starter) but the configuration is preserved if you upgrade later |
| Past analyses and history | Kept, fully searchable |
Team members above the new plan's limit must be removed before the switch date. Unlike rules and integrations, members aren't auto-disabled. If you're over the limit at the switch, the organization is locked from adding new members until you're under. Remove members from Organization → Team before the period ends.
Cancelling a pending downgrade
If you change your mind before the switch date, you can revert.
- Go to Organization → Plans
- Click Resume current plan — it appears where the upgrade / downgrade buttons normally are
- The pending switch is cancelled and you stay on your current plan at the next renewal
No refund is required because the downgrade hadn't taken effect yet.
Re-enabling watchdog rules after a downgrade
When watchdog rules auto-disable because you're over the per-project limit, the rule definitions are kept intact. To bring them back:
- Delete or pause rules until you're under the new plan's per-project limit
- Open the rule you want to re-activate
- Toggle it back on
You can also upgrade again at any time and all rules re-enable automatically.
Required permissions
| Action | Role |
